Rumor: Bryan Cranston Is The New Lex Lutor
A source close to the production team on the sequel to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel has said that Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston has signed a multi-movie deal to play Lex Luthor in the movie, which we now know will feature Ben Affleck as Batman.
Cosmic Book News revealed that the cult legend Cranston could be signed to as many as 10 movie appearances across the DC cinematic universe. Their source states that an official announcement will be made following the finale of the wildly popular Breaking Bad show, a move which they hope will drum up extra coverage for the announcement.
Mark Strong was thought to be the front-runner for the coveted role, however producers felt that with Strong already having played Sinestro in the DC comics Green Lantern, they didn't want to rule out further appearances from Strong in that role.
Cosmic Book News also reveal that with the signing of Ben Affleck as Batman, DC Comics hope to sign his life-long pal, Matt Damon to a regular role as well. Aqua Man and Martian Manhunter are two roles being linked with the Elysium star.
In the meantime, we'll be sure to keep you posted on any future developments with what is quickly becoming the most talked about movie in the Sci-Fi universe.
