Star Wars Episode 7 To Shoot In New Mexico?
Latino Review have been busy cranking out the rumors regarding Star Wars: Episode VII over the last few days and, just to keep things fresh, they're now speculating about filming locations as well as casting. Despite the announcement that Episode VII would be filmed in London and post-production would be carried out at J.J Abrams' Bad Robot studios in L.A, Latino Review and a host of other sources believe that some filming will be carried out on location in New Mexico.
According to Latino Review's sources, around 90% of production will be carried out in London, which is no great surprise given that this has been the case for pretty much all 6 of the previous Star Wars episodes. They continue by suggesting that whatever production isn't carried out in London or Los Angeles will be done in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
There have been no official announcements by the New Mexico Film Board, nor has there been word from anyone on the Episode VII production, but judging from the pictures we've seen of the place, Las Cruces certainly has the potential to be a classic Star Wars set. So if you're based in New Mexico, it could be time to start getting excited about having one of the most anticipated films in years being shot in your backyard.
