Star Wars Rumor Mill - Ronan, Oyelowo and More
The Star Wars Episode 7 rumor factory is cranking up to full steam right now, thanks mostly to Latino Review who are throwing names around left, right and center. We've already had the story linking the brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch with a chance to work with J.J Abrams again, but more details are starting to come through on what his role might be. According to Latino Review's sources, Cumberbatch's role will be limited in Episode 7, but his influence on the saga will increase rapidly in Episodes 8 and 9, suggesting that this is the trilogy's feature character we're talking about here.
Elsewhere, Saoirse Ronan of 'Hanna' and 'The Host' fame has been reading for an unspecified part in Episode 7. This one of course coming from Latino Review's mysterious sources, who go on to suggest that there is a female villain involved in the film. So could it be we see Miss Ronan wielding a lightsaber? She kicked some serious ass in Hanna, so it wouldn't be the hardest thing to imagine.
Finally, and most recently, Latino Review (who else) have linked two up and coming actors to the new Star Wars saga, again in an as yet undefined capacity. The first of these is British actor David Oyelowo, who apparently had meetings over a potential role in the film just a few days ago. Oyelowo's career is most definitely on the rise, having already featured in films like The Butler and Lincoln, he has also scored a part in Christopher Nolan's 2014 Sci-Fi jaunt, Interstellar. However, Latino Review believe that Oyelowo has some stiff competition for the role in the form of Fruitvale Station actor Michael B. Jordan. Jordan apparently met J.J Abrams in person to discuss the role, so could it be that he is actually the front runner?
So that's your lot for this week. But you can bet your marbles that there will be a whole bunch of new rumors coming through very, very soon.
