The Visual Effects Of Ender's Game
< >

Trying to bring to life a world as complex and alien as that of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game is no small feat. In fact, according to this new featurette for Gavin Hood's upcoming movie adaptation, so large was the visual side of the project, VFX work had to start three whole years before regular production began on the movie.

The zero-G environment of the famous Battle School represented a particular challenge for the likes of Gavin Hood and Roberto Orci. Here, the likes of Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld would have to interact with physical and CG aspects of the set, all while being suspended mid-air to simulate that zero-g environment. But Battle School is just the beginning of what I hope is to be a visual marvel. Alien worlds, future technology and space battles on a massive scale should all make Ender's Game a truly wonderful experience.....not that i'm excited or anything....

Ender's Game is released in theaters on November 1st.
