Aaron Taylor-Johnson To Play Quicksilver In Avengers: Age of Ultron
Kickass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been selected to play Pietro 'Quicksilver' Maximoff in Joss Whedon's 2015 Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The British actor has long been the hot favourite to get the nod for the role, but according to The Wrap he had to work out a scheduling conflict between Age of Ultron and his commitments on Gareth Edwards' Godzilla (2014). Marvel are yet to comment on the signing, but many sources believe Taylor-Johnson is a lock for the role.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be Quicksilver's second big screen outing with Taylor Johnson's Kick-Ass co-star Evan Peters playing the mutant hero in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Futures Past next year. Quicksilver's sister, The Scarlet Witch, will also be appearing in Whedon's big budget sequel, with Elizabeth Olsen thought to have secured the role. However, don't expect any mention of their Father, Magneto...It has already been confirmed that Quicksilver's lineage will only be tackled in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled for a May 2015 release.
