Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D Will Meet Thor: The Dark World
Where does 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' sit within Marvel's cinematic universe? That's the question that has been asked about Joss Whedon's small screen adventure ever since it was first announced. Now, with the release of 'Thor: The Dark World' just a few days away, it would seem that we have our answer. On November 19th, ABC will air 'The Well', an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that, according to a Marvel release will pick up exactly where the events of Thor: The Dark World leave off.
"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's 'Thor: The Dark World', Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D pick up the pieces - one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team." says the Marvel press release.
So it would seem that, not only will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D find it's place in Marvel's cinematic continuity, but also, the events of Thor: The Dark World look set to play a part in the start of the show's climax. Should this crossover between big and small screen enterprises prove successful, you can bet your breakfast that it will be used again in the future..
Marvel are already planning future TV show spin-offs, meaning that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D which looks likely to become a TV mainstay, will be just one outlet for crossover opportunity. For now though, we're still in the dark as to what capacity S.H.I.E.L.D's good looking bunch of hackers and nerds will be able to tidy up events that featured a demi-god and an unstoppable force of Dark Elves, but don't get your hopes up on it being too exciting. No, the real curiosity with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D lies with finding out just how in hell Coulson survived his wounds from the Avengers movie...
