Colombia UFO Fleet - Fake Or Potatoes?
A large crowd of people gather in a shopping district of Pereira, Colombia as a huge swarm of objects cruise across the sky. Reports supposedly came flooding in from across the area, but is this particular video a fraud? Notice how the camera never actually pans up from the gawking crowd to the objects in the sky. Many people have commented that this is just a crudely put together fake, but do the multiple witnesses in the Pereira area make this a genuine sighting?
As Open Minds points out, a local newspaper has confirmed that there were indeed objects in the sky that day. However, La Tarde revealed they weren't UFOs at all, they were in fact a fleet of Potato bombs set off by local university students in a protest against healthcare reforms.
The footage of the objects in the sky is reminiscent of thisUFO fleet from Mexico last year, which means that this is either an incredible coincidence or a simple case of mistaken identity. Still, this is probably the first time that I have heard of potatoes as an explanation for UFOs!
Finally, for those of you wondering what exactly a potato bomb is, La Tarde describe them as creole potatoes attached to helium balloons which allow them to float through the air.
