Simon Pegg Joins Monty Python Sci-Fi Movie 'Absolutely Anything'
Oh boy. As if the news that Monty Python crew were getting back together to create a sci-fi movie wasn't exciting enough, Simon Pegg has just been confirmed as the picture's lead actor. Absolutely Anything will feature the Monty Python crew voicing a group of aliens who bestow magical powers upon a School Teacher (Pegg) and his dog (Robin Williams).
Python star Terry Jones will direct the film which is set to be written by Small Soldiers screenwriter Gavin Pratt. But it's the acting lineup that looks so tantalizing. The Python stars are a big enough draw on their own, but add fellow Comedy A-listers Robin Williams and Simon Pegg to the fray and, you sir, have got yourself one heck of a movie.
Of course, it's no surprise that Pegg was interested in such a project, he's known to be a huge fan of science fiction and has fused the genre with comedy multiple times throughout his career. Of the move Pegg said:
"As someone whose love of comedy was hugely informed by Monty Python, the chance to work with Terry was a gift. Meeting your heroes is one thing, working with them is another.
As of yet there is no firm release date for the movie, but filming is expected to start in late March, so expect a release some time in, yeah you guessed it, 2015!
