Back To The Future - The West End Musical

Sci-Fi classic 'Back to the Future' is getting a make-over. No, it's not ANOTHER 1980's movie reboot...it is in fact Back to the Future - The Musical! Producers announced today that the beloved time-traveling adventure would be transformed into a musical spectacular in London's famed West End theater district.

Back to the Future - The Musical will premiere in 2015, which just so happens to be the 30th anniversary of the film's release. Fans of the movie will be pleased to hear that Writer/Director Robert Zemeckis will be working on the book for the musical with fellow writer Bob Gale. Music for the show will be written by Alan Silvestri who actually scored all three Back to the Future movies. This attachment to the motion picture will be music to the ears (couldn't resist the pun) of die-hard fans of Marty McFly and Doc, of which there are many.

As with many of the 1980's adventure films, music played such a huge part in telling the story. From the theme tune that never fails to transport you back to your childhood, through to Marty McFly's classic performance of Johnny B. Goode, Back to the Future is no exception to this rule. Really, i'm amazed that nobody thought of this before!

Early word from the producers is that the musical score will be accompanied by a host of hi-tec visual effects and yes, we can confirm that skateboards will feature heavily because famed skatepark engineer has already been signed to consult on skate scenes.

Folks...it's time to book your tickets to London!
