Post-Apocalyptic Mayhem In X-Files Creator's New Show 'The After'
It's happened...The Apocalypse is officially in danger of becoming a little overplayed. But we have to admit that when we heard about 'The After', a new TV show from X-Files creator Chris Carter, our interest was suitably piqued. Now, after seeing the first chunk of footage from Carter's project, we're desperate for more details to emerge about the show. Unfortunately, such details have not been forthcoming, with Carter's comments limited to suggesting that the show will explore "human frailty, possibility, terror and the triumph of the human spirit."
The clip, which admittedly displays some pretty wooden acting talents, shows a panicked Downtown L.A in the grips of a seemingly catastrophic event. Communications have been wiped out and it looks like helicopter pilots are somewhat struggling to control themselves. What has caused this mayhem is where the real mystery lies, but let's just hope this doesn't descend into a sub-standard version of Revolution because quite frankly, we've already had enough of that.
A pilot for 'The After' will be made available to Amazon subscribers along with 3 other shows later in the year, giving users a chance to vote for which one they want to make the final cut.
