Heroes Reborn, Legendary Show Returns To TV For 13 Episode Special
NBC have announced that their legendary sci-fi show 'Heroes' will return to TV with a 13-Episode Miniseries entitled 'Heroes Reborn' premiering in 2015. The announcement was made with a teaser trailer (above) which aired during NBC's Saturday broadcast of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Heroes Reborn will chart a stand-alone story arc, the details of which have not been revealed yet. Creator of the original series Tim Kring will executive produce the mini-series, which will be preceded by a series of digital shorts to introduce the new cast of characters.
"The enormous impact 'Heroes' had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening," said President of NBC Entertainment, Jennifer Salke. "Shows with that kind of resonance don't come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We're thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won't rule out the possibility of some of the show's original cast members popping back in."
So, could we see the likes Zachary Quinto and Hayden Panettiere reprising their roles for a cameo appearances in this 'Reborn' Heroes tale? While Jennifer Salke may be playing coy about the possibility, you can bet your kittens that there will be a healthy offering of original cast members propping up this new vision.
