New Images Reveal The Dinobot Line-Up Of Transformers: Age Of Extinction
Hasbro has unleashed images for 12 new robots set to feature in Michael Bay's upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction, and that of course means DINOBOTS! Grimlock (above), Slash, Slug, Scorn and Strafe are all present in the big Hasbro reveal, and while these are just Hasbro character pieces, you only need to look at the Grimlock above compared to the Grimlock from the trailer to know that these are the real deal. That means this our best look yet at the Dinobot line-up for the fourth outing of the Transformers, and I must say, they look pretty solid.
The release of the images comes afterEW's interview with Michael Bay, in which the Director gives off a few hints about what we can expect with this new look Transformers line-up. In the interview, Bay reveals the identity of the mysterious 'Gun-headed' menace that is seen striding through the remote American countryside in the trailer. His name is Lockdown, but what's his deal? Is he a Decepticon or an Autobot?
"Lockdown is an interesting character," says Bay. "He travels the galaxy, he works for somebody else. And he's here for one person, one alien, and then he's out of here. So he doesn't really want to take sides. The cause and balance of the galaxy is kind of messed up when different species play with different species. And that opens up a whole gigantic world for Transformers."
So could it be that there is another alien race out there that wants to stop Humans and Transformers from meddling in each other's business? If so, it may well be that Lockdown is their hired gun and he's come to Earth to stop this inter-species mingling once and for all.
Transformers: Age of Extinction is released in theaters everywhere on June 27th 2014.
