Kevin Feige Reveals He Finally Has An Actor For The Role Of Thanos
Guardians of the Galaxy is released this summer, and while the trailers and teasers have started hitting our screens, there is still an important bit of information we fans are waiting for. Who will play Thanos? While he won't be the movie's main antagonist, the appearance of Marvel's ultimate bad guy in Guardians of the Galaxy is known to be on the cards. But with a matter of month's remaining before the August release, we're still none the wiser as to who it's going to be.
In an interview with Empire Magazine Feige did tease that he and his team have found their man, but it looks like we'll have to wait a while longer to find out who it is. When Empire asked about the appearance of Thanos, Feige responded with this suitably frustrating line:
"There is an actor. I'm not sure we want to announce it yet."
Thanos is likely to appear in a motion capture capacity, but just how much we will see of him is not yet clear. The destroyer of worlds was first teased at the end of Marvel's Avengers and, as well as appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy, he's expected to have a significant impact on the two remaining movies in the Avengers trilogy.
Speaking of Avengers. Joss Whedon was also quizzed by Empire and he revealed that he's rather happy with the way things are going on the Avengers: Age of Ultron set.
"The number of different looks and textures and moods we're getting from the British locations is stupid awesome, because this, palette-wise, is very different. I'm trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird."
With the appearance of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and her brother Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), it would seem that the overall tone of Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to be far darker than that of its predecessor.
