So, without further ado, it's time to meet your new Star Wars legends...
As expected, the Girls star gets the nod as the trilogy's lead villain. Driver's charismatic and imposing screen presence are perfectly suited for the role of a Star Wars bad guy. Driver's rise to fame has been steady over the last few years. Appearances in Lincoln, Frances Ha and Inside Llewyn Davis have helped him become a household name with many movie-goers, but it's his role in Girls that he's best known for....for now at least.
Boyega shot to fame with his role in the hilarious Attack the Block, but it's his emotional turn in Malik Vitthal's Imperial Dreams that won critical acclaim and no doubt helped the young British actor secure his place in Star Wars lore.
This British actress is arguably the biggest surprise in the cast line-up. With only a handful of TV appearances to her name, Ridley looks set to make her name on the big screen in the biggest way possible.
Isaac shot to prominence with his heartfelt and musical role in last year's Inside Llewyn Davis. The Guatemalan actor has had a number of smaller roles on the big screen, appearing in the likes of Robin Hood and Sucker Punch, but rumor has it his role in Star Wars: Episode VII is going to be a big one.
Gleeson won the hearts of many as the awkward time-travelling romantic in Richard Curtis's About Time, but many know him better as good old Bill Weasley. Now it looks like the Irish actor is ditching wands and time travel for lightsabers and the force, which i'm sure is just fine by him.
Here's an actor who needs no introduction even if you do rarely see his face on TV. Serkis is the arguably the greatest motion capture actor ever to grace our screens. His role as Gollum in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies are legendary, but he's also the man behind Caesar in the new Planet of the apes movies. It's almost certain that Serkis will be donning a green suit once again J.J Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII
Max von Sydow
There's no doubting this fella's credentials. Von Sydow has been a Hollywood force for over 6 decades starring in big budget productions like Minority Report and the 2010 Robin Hood. Born in Sweden, Von Sydow's experience will likely see him playing one of the galaxy's more wiley characters.
