Watch The X-Men End Credits Scene From Amazing Spider-Man 2
With the release of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this past week, you've probably noticed the excited noises coming from movie-goers who witnessed the X-Men surprise appearance in the end-credits scene. The scene, entitled 'Who Are You', has now been posted online for all to see, sparking naive rumors that it is hinting at a Spidey/X-Men crossover movie. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but this is nothing more than a legal consequence of Webb's decision to direct the Sony-owned Amazing Spider-Man 2 instead of committing to another movie with Fox.
Webb was expected to direct another movie for Fox after he completed '500 Days of Summer', but was instead allowed to take on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 project on the condition that Sony could place a teaser for their new X-Men movie during the end credits scene.
The scene features Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique going rogue in an effort to free some mutant conscripts from the grips of the US military's William Stryker. Toad and Havoc are part of the newly-liberated group, but this scene is really all about Mystique rocking her moves as she takes down the military security team with ease.
For those of you wanting a bit of Spidey-based fun at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, just make sure you have your Shazam app up and running during the end-credits. You'll be rewarded with a teaser for Drew Goddard's Sinister Six movie if you do.
