New Red Band Trailer Showcases The Potential Of Bong Joon-Ho's Snowpiercer
For much of the world Bong Joon-Ho's dystopian sci-fi movie Snowpierce might be old news, but for us over here in the US, it's yet to be released in theaters. That means that really, all we've had to go on are reviews and teaser trailers, which if we're being honest, probably haven't done the best job at selling the movie. That is until now, because the red band trailer has finally given the North American audience a glimpse at this movie's massive potential.
Of course this potential isn't displayed merely by the increased level of violent activity, the red band trailer does a better job than its predecessors at highlighting the chaotic world than Joon-Ho has created. Speeding on a train through a wasted Earth certainly poses a few obstacles to humanity's remnants, but it is the class-system inside the train that is more dangerous than anything.
While you may have read mixed reviews about Snowpiercer, this trailer is proof that the movie is worth your time. It won't quite be the cutting commentary on today's social disparity that Bong Joon-Ho would have you believe, but it will be an entertaining and, at times, thought provoking journey through an interesting vision of the future.
Snowpiercer is released in US theaters on June 27th 2014.
