New Mexico is the UFO Googling Capital of America
Did you know there is one thing that people in your state 'Googles' more than any other state? Well, a new map courtesy of Estately is about to spread shame through state residents across America.
Using Google Trends, Estately have revealed that some of the time, state residents really do live-up to their stereotypes. Take New Mexico for example. With their state playing host to the most famous UFO event in history, it's no surprise that New Mexicans google UFOs more than the residents of any other state. Those living in the frozen tundra of Minnesota clearly took a shine to the sweeping shenanigans of the Winter Olympics this year, because they are the top googlers of Curling.
Some state's top searches are just plain weird. Ohio loves Raccoon Hunting, while South Dakota has an embarrassing penchant for Nickelback. But Georgia? Don't even get us started on what is going down in Georgia.
Back to New Mexico. It may be that this desert land really is a bit of a UFO hotspot. As our infographic shows below, New Mexico registered one of the highest sightings rates per 100,000 people last year, clocking up a healthy 61 sightings with MUFON in 2013.
