Propaganda Posters from Hunger Games: Mockingjay Will Disturb You

The countdown to the highly anticipated "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1," has begun, and The Capitol has released propaganda posters for several of the districts. They're beautiful photos, but the cold, clinical posing of the subjects and the let-them-eat-cake-type captions are creepy in the best possible way.

Wealth in Panem is inversely proportional to district number (which can be found in the upper right-hand corner), and it shows. Most heartbreaking of all is the little girl from the mining district (number 12) which is the poorest district and home of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

"Mockingjay Pt 1" finds Katniss in District 13, which is leading the rebellion against the oppressive, totalitarian government of Panem. Katniss becomes a reluctant symbol of the rebellion, on the condition that all of the Hunger Games tributes be granted immunity and that she is allowed to personally kill the tyrannical President Snow.

The film will be released in almost exactly five months, on November 21, 2014. It will star Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth, and will be followed by the final installment on November 20, 2015.
