Scoot McNairy Cast in Mystery Role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Scoot McNairy is decidedly not famous, which is odd, considering that he's appeared in several high-profile films such as "Killing Them Softly," "Argo," "The Rover," and "12 Years A Slave," as well as starring in the AMC series "Halt and Catch Fire." But his star quotient may increase significantly now that he's been cast in an unspecified role in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
An insider told TheWrap that he or she was "sworn to secrecy" regarding McNairy's role. This has led to instant speculation that he is playing someone very significant to DC Comics, possibly a member of the Justice League. Many have suggested the Flash, since he has the signature lean build and slightly nerdy looks.
McNairy will join an all-star cast, with Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Godot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, as well as Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Holly Hunter. This will mark the third film in which McNairy has been cast alongside Ben Affleck, after 2012's Best Picture winner Argo and the upcoming prestige thriller Gone Girl.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will open on May 3, 2016, possibly on the same day as Captain America 3.
