San Diego Comic Con: Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany Does Shaun of the Dead
Clones and zombies don't come together nearly often enough. Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black fame recreated a shot from the zombie classic Shaun of the Dead in this amazing video for San Diego Comic Con.
When asked if there was anyone whose autograph she would stand in line for, Maslany singled out the cast of Shaun of the Dead: "I was blown away, it was a perfect film. I cried, I laughed, I was terrified, I believed every moment, I just thought it was so brilliant. It's like an allusion to the greatest zombie movies while not sending it up, it's funny but it totally takes it seriously, and I think that's why it's so good."
She also recounted her favorite fan interaction at Comic Con: "There was a girl who was dressed as one of the clones on Orphan Black dressed as another clone. It was like this totally esoteric, very detailed costume - nobody else would know who she was except us. It was really great to see that."
On Orphan Black, Maslany plays many clones with the same genetic makeup who are all attempting to discover their origins and grapple with issues of identity. Her performance has been universally acclaimed, garnering her two Critics' Choice Awards, a Golden Globe nom and the admiration of showrunners such as Lost's Damon Lindelof and The Shield's Shawn Ryan.
