Marvel Memorializes Three-Year-Old Fan in Upcoming Uncanny Avengers
The upcoming Uncanny Avengers issue will feature a tribute to three-year-old Jacoby Latta, a young boy who was killed in an accident earlier this year.
After his son was killed by a falling tree branch, Stuart Latta told his church community of his desire to bring his son's dream of being a superhero to life, unaware that one of his fellow patrons, Sanford Greene, is a series artist for the Uncanny Avengers. "I'm drawing the book that has all these characters in it, so it was ironic, the very thing they were looking for, I was actually doing for the company," said Greene.
The above artwork will appear in the issue, alongside a special memorial written by the child's father.
"I know for the family when they received the original [artwork] it was emotional, I was emotional," Greene said. "There is going to be a lot of people that will see his story and I know it will impact them and tons of other people."
The 27th issue of Uncanny Avengers will be released on August 27.
