Supernatural Alum Cast in Arrow as DC Comics Villain
DC comics fans will be getting their fill of canonical characters on Arrow this season, between Brandon Routh as Atom, J.R. Ramirez as Wildcat, and David Cubitt as Manhunter. Today, Amy Gumenick was cast as Carrie Cutter, aka DC villain Cupid.

Cupid begins as an adoring fan of Green Arrow's, but then loses touch with her sanity and becomes his obsessive nemesis. In the comics, she is a former special ops soldier whose capacity for love was heightened by a secret government program that made her fearless. She was created by writer Andrew Kreisenberg for Green Arrow/Black Canary #15. Kreisenberg is now an executive producer for Arrow. "I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan," said Kreisberg. "When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character."
Arrow also recently cast Nolan Funk of Glee and Awkward fame as Cooper Seldon, Felicity Smoak's ex-boyfriend. He will appear in the fifth episode of the season, which will be Felicity-centric and will feature flashbacks from her college years.
Gumenick is already a CW favorite, as she played the small but significant role of Mary Winchester, the central characters' mother, as a young woman. Her arc will begin in the sixth and seventh episodes of the upcoming season, which will premiere on October 8.
