JJ Abrams Releases Glorious Video Showing The Batmobile On The Millenium Falcon
The Star Wars and Batman vs Superman crossover fun just got kicked up to a glorious new level thanks to a new video from JJ Abrams that features a close-up of the Millenium Falcon with an added surprise.
Yes, that was indeed a Batmobile attached to the bottom of the 'Hunka Junk' we all know as the Millenium Falcon. While this doesn't indicate a potentially Internet-ending sci-fi movie mash-up, it does mark a new chapter in an exchange that will surely go down in genre history.
Last weekend, Batman vs Superman director Zack Snyder tweeted the picture below showing a Stormtrooper getting arrested behind Batman's Batmobile.

Nobody quite knows why Snyder tweeted this image, but equally, nobody really cares either because this is just one of those perfect geeky moments where two of the genre's greatest properties came together in an inexplicable, but beautiful way. Now Abrams has continued the back and forth and the rumor mills are in full spin as fans of both Star Wars and Batman attempt to extract some meaning from the exchange.
Some are claiming it's a signal that the two director's will crossover at some point, with Abrams perhaps directing one of Warner Bros future DC Comics movies, but really it doesn't seem to be anything more than a bit of banter. Plus, you may well have noticed that the Batmobile used in Abrams' video is actually the Christopher Nolan version, and not Snyder's.
Speaking of Snyder's Batmobile, the iconic vehicle has been the subject of numerous leaked videos from the Detroit set of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. From long-distance shots of the Batmobile to close-ups of the Batmobile chasing down bad guys, Batman's ride is the most talked about mode of transport on the internet right now.
Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters in December 2015, while Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in March 2016.
