Did Marvel Confirm the Death of Deadpool in Upcoming Comic?
Marvel superheroes are dropping left and right these days. An executive teased fans today with the prospect of Deadpool joining Wolverine in the Great Superhero Comic in the Sky.
David Gabriel, senior vice president of sales and marketing, let the news slip while speaking about the upcoming Death of Wolverine comic: "Speaking of death, we were just talking about the upcoming death of a character in March in issue 250 of a character with the word 'Dead' in his name. Go figure."
It's clear that he's referring to Deadpool, whose 250th issue is coming up in March. But, to be fair, the wording is slightly ambiguous, and it's possible that another character will die, while the reference to Deadpool was simply to specify which comic. However, by being coy about revealing Deadpool's name, Gabriel certainly makes it seem like the beloved hero will meet his (likely impermanent) demise.
But even if Deadpool were to die in March in the comics, fans can rest easy, as he will rise again in the upcoming February 2016 Deadpool movie.
