Twin Peaks Is Coming Back To TV With 9 New Episodes In 2016!
Great news for fans of weird murder mystery... David Lynch is bringing his cult classic 'Twin Peaks' back to TV with 9 brand new episodes starting in 2016. Lynch and his co-creator, Mark Frost are reportedly working on script treatments for the new episodes, which will air on Showtime just in time for the show's 25th anniversary celebrations.
Reports suggest that although the new shows will form a continuation of the original storyline, they will be set in the present day. Still in its very early stages, the production has not started casting yet, but we can't help but think they would be missing a major trick if they neglected to bring Kyle MacLachlan back as Agent Dale Cooper.
Twin Peaks debuted back in 1990, but due to poor ratings the show never made it beyond a 2 season run. As can be the case with shows that are cancelled 'before their time', Twin Peaks maintains a fervent fanbase and we're fairly certain that everyone knows at least one person who insists the show is "Literally the best show ever!".
Lynch and Frost teased fans via Twitter earlier this morning with a reference to one of the classic lines from the show.
