The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies Joins Josh Holloway in Colony
Lost and The Walking Dead survivors will band together for USA's new sci-fi drama, Colony. The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies has just signed on to co-star alongside Lost's Josh Holloway in the upcoming alien invasion show, helmed by Lost writer and executive producer Carlton Cuse.
The official description of the series is as follows: "as a naturalistic drama set in the near future in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of alien intruders. Some collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences. The project centers on a family torn by opposing forces and making difficult choices as they balance staying together with surviving the struggle of the human race."
Holloway will play Will Bowman, the patriarch of the central family, who is forced to work with colonial government, while Callies will play his wife, Katie, described as "a mother of three who faces a daily struggle to keep her family safe and united in an occupied Los Angeles." (Let's hope there's more to her character than that.)
This character is not exactly a departure for Callies, as she just came off a stint on The Walking Dead as the protagonist's wife, Lori Grimes. Her character was almost universally despised, and she was (spoiler!) ultimately killed off in the third season.
