This Spaceballs Trailer in the Style of Interstellar Is Just Perfect

I'll admit, Spaceballs is up there on my list of greatest sci-fi movies of all time. I'll also admit that I am incredibly excited about Interstellar. Imagine my glee then, when I discovered that some clever bugger has thrown together some classic Spaceballs footage in the style of those Interstellar trailers....

You would never put the two together. One is a parody of every cheesy moment 80's sci-fi had to offer, the other is dramatic vision of humanity spreading its wings to save its existence...and that's exactly why this works so well!

Starring Bill Pullman, John Candy, and Rick Moranis, Spaceballs was released in 1987 taking advantage of the wave of sci-fi movies that came out in the early to mid 80's. It drew most of its inspiration from George Lucas's Star Wars trilogy, with Mel Brooks parodying both the Emperor and Yoda. If you haven't seen it, it's currently streaming on Netflix and is well worth 90 minutes of your time.

Interstellar is released in theaters on November 7th.
