Gale Condemns Peeta in New Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1 TV Spot
Previous trailers for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1 have played down the love triangle aspect of the franchise, but this new TV spot isn't shy about catering to shippers:
In this new footage, we see a beaten and brainwashed Peeta serve as a mouthpiece for the Capitol. Katniss presumably excuses him, as he doesn't seem to have a choice in the matter, but Gale insists that "everyone has a choice," and that he would sooner die than help the Capitol. It's actually a powerful dilemma to explore, whether a person should be willing to sacrifice themselves for their convictions, but the look Gale gives Katniss when she's ecstatic that Peeta is alive seems to indicate that it will mostly be used as fodder for the love triangle.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1 opens on November 21, 2014, with the final film in the series opening on November 20, 2015.
