Marvel Unveils First Look At Mockingbird's Suit From Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Last night's episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced Adrianne Palicki's Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird as one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s newest (and most efficient) weapons. Wearing a red military suit, Morse was revealed to be working undercover at Hydra before blowing her cover and returning to Coulson and co. over at S.H.I.E.L.D. Next week, as well as the Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans will also get to see Morse donning her suit as Mockingbird for the first time. In advance of next week's episode, entitled 'A Fractured House', Marvel has released the first stills showing Palicki in the more familiar black get-up of Mockingbird.
The suit was designed by Ann Foley and marks a slight departure to the traditional black and white worn by the comic book version of Mockingbird, which you can see up top. Here's what Foley had to say about designing the suit:
"I looked at all of her comic appearances and really wanted to try to bring elements of the look from the comics into the costume that we're doing now for the show because I know it's important to the fans," remarked Foley. "It's important to me to keep certain elements, but we had to change it, obviously, for practicality, because it had to fit into our world. It had to have a kind of tactical feeling to it too so that it made sense in our universe."
If the black background is making it a little hard to see the suit's details, check out the image below. You can see that black and white have been largely swapped out for gray and blue, but the general design is still very much as per the comic book original.
