Watch Marvel's New Avengers: Age of Ultron Footage That Premiered During Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yesterday was the biggest day for Marvel fans in a good long while, with the surprise announcement of Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel and Black Panther solo films, Captain America: Civil War, and more. Marvel then capped off the day by airing new footage of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron during last night's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Watch the full footage below:
Originally, the footage that aired during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was just supposed to be a teaser trailer, but that leaked last week. In order to give new footage to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans like they promised, Marvel added a new scene to the beginning of the trailer. In this scene, the Avengers (plus Maria Hill) joke around with each other as they each try to lift Thor's hammer. Tony Stark, who has the biggest ego, tries the hardest and longest, while earnest Captain America gets close to moving it, because of course he's the closest to worthy (and Thor's faltered smile is priceless). Black Widow declines to make an attempt, as she doesn't need to flex her muscles, and Thor pronounces all of them "not worthy."
Then, the sinister Ultron comes out of nowhere to say, "How could you be worthy. You're all just puppets, dangled by strings. Strings." To James Spader's credit, his presence and voice are both adequately frightening, but I still can't help but think about Pinocchio, especially at the end of the trailer when he says, "There are no strings on me."
