The First Poster for Neill Blomkamp's Sci-Fi Movie, Chappie, is here!
The first poster for Neill Blomkamp's 2015 sci-fi project, Chappie, is here and it looks just about as bizarre as the movie's premise sounds. The poster's release comes the day before the release of Chappie's first trailer, which should give us our first look at the titular robotic child genius.
South African director Blomkamp is once again teaming up with his compatriot Sharlto Copley for his latest sci-fi movie which, believe it or not, actually sounds more 'out there' than anything he has done before. After Blomkamp's last two movies, District 9 and Elysium, Copley is trying his hand at motion capture as he takes up the title role of Chappie, a robotic child genius.
Here's the official synopsis for Chappie.
After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.
It's an intriguing idea that is made all the more exciting when you consider the cast that Blomkamp has assembled for it. Copley is joined by Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver and Dev Patel as well as South African rapper/actors Ninja and Yo Landi Vi$$er of Die Antwoord. Chappie is produced by Simon Kinberg and written by Blomkamp and his wife, Terri Tatchell.
Chappie hits theaters March 6th 2015.
