Hitler Rides a Dinosaur in New Teaser for Iron Sky: The Coming Race
One of the silliest science fiction movies ever made is crowdfunding for a sequel, and the filmmakers have gifted us with this teaser to convince us to "Join the war against Adolf Hitler and his dinosaur army!":
The sequel, which they describe as "Iron Sky meets Jurassic Park goes Indiana Jones," has, as of this writing, already raised over $38,000 of their $500,000 goal in just two days. The Indiegogo campaign began on November 5 and ends on December 20.
The first film, which was crowdfunded as well, told the story of a group of Nazis who fled to the Moon following World War II, all the while planning to overtake the Earth with in 2018 after building a powerful space fleet. It was unabashedly cheesy and silly, in the vein of other such comedies as Dead Snow, and gained a following in spite of mixed to negative reviews. The sequel looks to be more of the same, only with dinosaurs.
The official synopsis for Iron Sky: The Coming Race reads: "Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war, but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity – or destroy it once and for all. The truth behind the creation of mankind will be revealed when an old enemy leads our heroes on an adventure into the Hollow Earth. To save humanity they must fight the Vril, an ancient shapeshifting reptilian race and their army of dinosaurs."
