Peter Capaldi Tells Autistic Child as the Twelfth Doctor: 'We're On Your Side'
The Twelfth Doctor may be significantly darker and more misanthropic than the relatively warm and cuddly Eleven, but he still cares enough about humanity to comfort this young boy who was grieving the recent death of his nanny:
The YouTube description reads: "A lovely message from Peter Capaldi to my 9 year old autistic son. This arrived just before Thomas' nanny's funeral and helped him to deal with his grief in a profound way. Thank you Peter so much."
In the video, Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi (who is, by all accounts, a class act) tells Thomas that, when he and "Clara" are traveling through time and space, "sometimes sad things happen," and it's comforting for them to know that they have Thomas on their side. He tells him, as the Doctor, "we're on your side, too."
We're not crying, YOU ARE.
