First Jurassic World Trailer Comes Out Two Days Early
The first trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World was supposed to come out on Thursday, but Universal Studios unexpectedly released it before everyone begins their Thanksgiving hibernation:
In the style of Spielberg's classic Jaws, we only see tiny glimpses of the main villain, a genetically engineered dinosaur hybrid referred to only as "she." We know from director Colin Trevorrow that it is a mixture of T-Rex, velociraptor, snake, and cuttlefish, and we know from the Legos that it looks like an extremely unsettling albino T-Rex, with white, scaly skin and glowing red eyes. The trailer tells us that she is "a highly intelligent animal" who "will attack anything that moves."
Mostly, in spite of the heavy sci-fi leanings implied by the genetic modification, the trailer makes it seem like an old school thriller with a formidable central villain. It also seemed to show that the velociraptors who were so terrifying in the infamous kitchen scene in the original Jurassic Park are now somewhat domesticated, as they can be seen running alongside Chris Pratt in his search for the hybrid.
Jurassic World comes out on June 12, 2015.
