James Cameron Brags That Avatar Sequels Will Make You Sh*t Yourself
James Cameron is currently busy working on bringing not one, not two, but three more Avatar movies to theaters, and in a recent interview with Empire Magazine, he had some rather interesting comments to make about what we could expect from our return to Pandora.
Cameron responded to Empire's question about the storylines by saying "I can tell you one thing about them...They're gonna be bitchin'". Ok, that's a little bit boastful, but we'll concede that there is at least a small chance that some fans may eventually refer to the new movies as 'bitchin', but it's what he said next that really caught our attention: "You will shit yourself with your mouth wide open.". I'm sorry, Mr. Cameron, did you just say I will shit myself when I watch these movies?? Is that meant to be a good thing? Despite the odd comments, one thing we can glean from this interview is that Cameron is feeling rather bullish on Avatar 2-4's chances of success.
Cameron also put to bed the rumors that the movie would be making a move to 60 frames per second, saying "My thinking at the time was that 60 [FPS] might be a better segue to the video market. I'll be plugging into a system that's a little more mature, so it makes sense for me to do 48 frames at this point."
No news yet on the specific plot details, but we do know that Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington will be reprising their roles and that the former recently let slip that much of Avatar 2 would be centered around an expansive ocean ecosystem on the planet of Pandora.
Avatar 2 is scheduled for release in December 2016.
