The Best Parodies and Fan Art of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer

The all-too-brief teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has only been out for a few days, but the internet is already filled with comments, opinions, speculation, and some racism (come on now, people). But most entertainingly, it has also spurred some admirable creative efforts in the form of parody trailers and fan art. Here are some of the best fan-created promotional items for Episode VII.

 

 

George Lucas's CGI-fied parody, for a movie that's "probably coming depressingly soon":

And our favorite, a parody of J.J. Abrams's inexplicable affinity for lens flares:

 

 

And then there was the fan art, the vast majority of which was focused on the new type of lightsaber, since dubbed the "crucifix lightsaber," because let's face it, not much else happened in this trailer:
