Walking Dead Spin-Off Series Gets Two New Cast Members and a Title
The Walking Dead spin-off is starting to come together, as it has added Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey to the cast and now has a (working?) title: Cobalt.
Dillane, known for playing young Voldemort in the Harry Potter series, will play Nick Tompkins, who we know from the recent character descriptions is the son of one of the main characters, Nancy, and a "screwed-up teenager" who struggles with drug addiction. Debnam Carey will play his sister, Ashley, who is described as a "mostly levelheaded" young girl whose "ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother's failures."
We don't really know what to think about that title, since plot details have not been released. We only know that the show will take place within the same zombie apocalypse as The Walking Dead, but will take place in another part of the world. Judging by the casting (Dillane is English and Debnam-Carey is Australian), the UK is a distinct possibility? But it's also filming in Pennsylvania, so it's possible that both actors will just put on an American accent.
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead returns for its midseason premiere on February 8, 2015.
