Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Will Feature a Tie-In with Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been, for better and for worse, tied to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception, with Captain America: Winter Soldier completely changing the ballgame last season and Punisher, Inhumans, and Baron von Strucker Easter eggs as the most recent shout-outs. Now, EW reports that the superhero support show will soon feature a tie-in with the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Regarding a connection to the Avengers sequel, executive producer Jed Whedon gave a tantalizingly vague confirmation: "You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we're included in that."
Similarly, executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen said, "I don't think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did, but there will be connections."
We still have no idea of what this "connection" might be, although it seems likely that we might have to wait until 2015, as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently in the throes of finishing up the Kree storyline (which is, incidentally, a tie-in with Guardians of the Galaxy).
The tenth episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "What They Become," airs tonight at 9pm on ABC.
