Marvel Releases Official Synopses for Agent Carter's First Two Episodes
With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. retired for the year after its revelatory midseason finale, Marvel is pushing its time slot replacement, Agent Carter, with a renewed vigor. First, there was that awesome poster released yesterday that saw Hayley Atwell looking like Carmen Sandiego, and now we have synopses for the first two episodes of the Captain America spin-off.
The synopsis for the pilot episode, named "Now Is Not the End," reads: "Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark's name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call–whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison…or worse."
The second episode, "Bridge and Tunnel," is described as follows: "Howard Stark's deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?"
Agent Carter stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, and Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley. The first two episodes will air back-to-back as a two-hour special on January 6 at 9pm on ABC.
