Doctor Who Series 9 First Episode Title Revealed
We don't know much about the ninth series of Doctor Who, especially since BBC hasn't aired the Christmas special yet. But now, we at least know the name of the first episode: series 9, episode 1 will be called "The Magician's Apprentice."
This tantalizing piece of news doesn't tell us too much, although some are already speculating that it's a reference to the fate of Jenna Coleman's Clara, who holds the position of Doctor's assistant. The powers that be have confirmed that Peter Capaldi will return as the twelfth doctor next season, but have stubbornly refused to confirm Coleman's return. There have been rumors that Coleman did, in fact, quit the show, but then reversed the decision and will appear for at least the first half of the next season. But these reports are still unofficial, and in a recent interview, showrunner Stephen Moffat said the ninth series would center on "Peter and Jenna. Well, if Jenna's in it."
The Christmas special of Doctor Who, ominously titled "Last Christmas," will air on December 25, 2014, and the ninth series will air in 2015.
