Vin Diesel Drops Another Hint at Role in Marvel's Inhumans
Although it's really less a hint and more of an anvil. After posting a cryptic message in August that hinted he would be taking on another role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy's Vin Diesel has posted a cover photo on Facebook that all but confirms his presence in the film:
In August, shortly after the confirmation of an official Inhumans script, Diesel posted a picture of Groot, his character in Guardians of the Galaxy, with the caption, "Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen! I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I'm Inhuman… Haha." Now, by posting this cover photo, he once again seems to be telling his fans that he will play one of the Inhumans. This doesn't constitute an official confirmation, and Diesel once posted a fanmade poster of himself as a role that he ultimately didn't play, but the fact that he's dropped multiple hints about the same film make this seem more credible.
But which of the Inhuman royal family should he play? As we said in our superhero dream casting, Diesel is an obvious choice for Gorgon, whose main characteristic is his hulking physicality. But many fans are calling for him to play the Inhuman king, Black Bolt, mostly as an inside joke for Marvel fans. Diesel's character in Guardians of the Galaxy is known for only saying three words for the entire film, while Black Bolt doesn't speak because his voice has the capability to level cities.
Inhumans is scheduled to be released on November 2, 2018.
