Marvel to Make Comic Sequel to Howard the Duck Post-Credits Scene
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 won't be released for another two years, but fans won't have to wait that long for a follow-up to the post-credits sequence. Marvel has just announced that they will be releasing a comic book sequel to the Howard the Duck post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy.
In an offbeat, very un-MCU-like post-credits sequence, Guardians of the Galaxy revealed that Howard the Duck had been taken captive by the Collector. Now, the second issue of the new Howard the Duck series will feature the Guardians and will explain how Howard came to be in the Collector's possession. (Although, wouldn't that make it a prequel?)
The official solicitation text reads: "Howard's first big case has taken him across the universe and landed him in the clutches of The Collector! But he's not alone as the very popular Rocket Raccoon is a prisoner as well! Have you ever seen a comic book sequel to a post-credits scene in a movie? Well, you will now!"
Marvel's Howard the Duck #2 will Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by Joe Quinones. It will be released in comic book stores in April.
