Two New Clips from Project Almanac Are All About Time Travel
Two new clips from the Michael Bay teen time travel movie have been released, each exploring a different facet of time travel:
In the first clip, one of the characters is showing his friends a home video of his seventh birthday party, and then exclaims, "That's me" when he sees his teenage self crashing the party, presumably after he's traveled back in time. Judging from their shock, they haven't discovered that they can travel back in time yet in the first clip, while in the second clip they actually travel to the past for the first time. We don't see the outcome, but we do see the action-packed time travel itself, in which one of the kids disturbingly almost loses an arm. (Remember splinching in Harry Potter? I imagine it to be sort of like that.)
The clips are each less than two minutes long, so they still don't give me very much of an impression. The phrase "Michael Bay teen time travel movie" doesn't inspire much confidence, but a couple of critics have claimed that it's better than it appears from the promotional materials, so its potential to surprise remains to be seen.
Project Almanac comes out on January 30.
