The Matrix's Carrie Anne Moss Cast in AKA Jessica Jones
AKA Jessica Jones is raking in cult favorite actors. After recently casting Doctor Who's David Tennant as the villainous Purple Man, Marvel/Netflix has just cast The Matrix's Carrie Anne Moss in a significant recurring role.
According to Variety, who first broke the news, Moss will play "a no-nonsense woman who could be a powerful ally to Jessica, if she's not completely alienated by her first." Moss hasn't done too much since her Trinity days, but she seems well-cast as a foil for loose cannon Jessica Jones, who will be played by Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter.
Moss also joins Grey's Anatomy's Rachael Taylor, who will play Marvel comics character Patricia Walker, and Mike Colter, who will play "hero-for-hire" Luke Cage. Cage will be introduced on AKA Jessica Jones before going on to lead his own series. The Marvel/Netflix collaboration includes Daredevil, AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and will culminate in a Defenders miniseries.
Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones will be released on Netflix later this year, following the Daredevil series, which premieres on April 10.
