Production on Deadpool Movie Starts, Ryan Reynolds Teases The Merc's Costume
There are just 365 days to go until we finally get to see a Deadpool movie hit the big screen. Production on the movie kicked off in Canada this week and today Ryan Reynolds teased fans with the first, albeit unrevealing, look at Deadpool's famed red and black costume.
A Deadpool movie has, for a long time, been at the top of every comic book fan's most-wanted list, but late last year a leaked copy of test footage featuring Reynolds as Wade Wilson in action sent the Internet into meltdown.
Following weeks of fan frenzy over the leaked footage, the announcement came that a Deadpool movie had finally been given the green light and that Ryan Reynolds would return to play the beloved 'Merc with a Mouth'. Reynolds has since revealed that the overwhelming reaction to the leaked footage helped to get the project pushed through. When asked by Yahoo Movies what caused the sudden decision to green-light the project, Reynold's simply said "Leaked test footage. Exclusively the leaked test footage, 100 percent."
Reynold's has warned that Fox's Deadpool movie won't have the same kind of budget that the likes of Marvel and Warner Bros. are able to dedicate to their superheroes, but he's nonetheless happy that this is going to be the movie fans want. "Now, we get to make the movie. We don't get to make it with the budget of most superhero movies, but we get to make it the way we want to make it, so that's even more exciting than having a catered lunch."
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th 2016.
