Darth Vader Returns to Star Wars Rebels for Show's Season Finale
The Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader, is returning to Star Wars Rebels for the animated show's season finale next week and you can get an early look at the event in a new teaser for the episode, which will air next Monday.
Darth Vader's dramatic return aside, Star Wars Rebels' Season 1 finale also looks set to be the show's most action packed outing to date, as Ezra, Hera and co. embark on a dangerous mission to break Kanan out of Imperial captivity. Throughout its first season, Rebels has introduced a host of familiar faces from the Star Wars movies including Lando Calrissian and Grand Moff Tarkin, but none are bigger than Darth Vader, whose only previous appearance on the show came in a bonus scene in ABC's re-airing of 'Spark of Rebellion'. Just how big of a role Darth Vader will play in the season 1 finale remains to be seen, but his appearance is a sign that the Rebels' exploits are starting to creep higher and higher on the Empire's radar. Having sent one of his most-respected leaders to quell the resistance, Emperor Palpatine is now forced to send his Sith apprentice to aid Tarkin and the Inquisitor's efforts.
The other major storyline that Rebels fans are hoping to see resolved in next week's finale is the reveal of the show's biggest mystery, Fulcrum. Serving as a key contact to the Rebels throughout the first season, Fulcrum's identity has been kept a closely guarded secret, but just a few weeks ago reports started flooding in that the mysterious figure is actually someone that most Star Wars fans know very very well...Read the rumors of Fulcrum's identity here.
Star Wars Rebels 'Fire Across the Galaxy' airs Monday March 2nd on Disney XD.
