New Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer Arrives a Day Early!
The second trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron will officially be released tomorrow night during the series premiere of American Crime, but Marvel UK has released it a day early, likely to prevent Hydra from getting to it first:
I usually don't get too excited for trailers, but I'm just going to say it- this was really good. It was almost all new footage, which surprised me. I assumed they would recycle a lot of the footage from the first trailer in order to avoid giving too much away.
The new statements from Ultron were fairly chilling: "I was designed to save the world. People look to the sky and see hope. I'll take that from them first." "There's only one path to peace: their extinction." It's no "I've got no strings" or anything, but still effective.
The trailer also highlighted a few lighthearted moments, including Black Widow telling Tony that he "failed amazingly" at trying to help the world by creating Ultron, and the Tony/Steve dream team's: "No way we all get through this." "I have no plans tomorrow night." But the relationships between the Avengers will clearly be fractured, as Ultron mentions "tearing them apart from the inside." This likely refers to Scarlet Witch's ability to mess with their heads, especially since Ultron is seen talking to her almost like an underling.
The official description for the film is as follows:
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1.
