Spoiler Alert! Sunday's Walking Dead Will See Two Major Deaths?
After the one-two punch of Beth and Tyreese, both the survivors and the poor, tired fans have gotten a brief respite from the unremitting death on The Walking Dead. But now, a new report from Spoiling Dead indicates that this weekend could end that winning streak, as two characters are rumored to meet their untimely end.
I doubt anyone will shed any tears over the first death, as the character was just introduced last episode and he was a frat boy-esque idiot. That's right, it's Deanna's son, Aiden, who was awesomely decked out by Glenn last week:
According to Spoiling Dead, "Deanna's son Aiden, (the self-proclaimed douchebag) shoots a walker that's wearing riot gear multiple times at a close distance. Aiden ends up shooting a grenade on the walker's body by mistake. (Oopsie!) After the smoke clears, we see that Aiden has become a human shish kabob as he is impaled on a pole... After a failed attempt to help Aiden, he is munched on by some walkers." Oh, well. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Although his death won't have a major impact on fans, it will likely have a major impact on the dynamics between the characters on the show. Although Deanna seems to understand that her son is an asshat, it will still probably cause tension between the Alexandrians and the Rickites. And if any tension starts to rise, Rick and Carol might let their true colors show and escalate the conflict until it's a legitimate crisis.
The second death will make more of an impression, as it's a significant enough character that fans will either be sad or incredibly happy:
Noah, Beth's hospital friend who led the group to Alexandria in the first place, will reportedly meet his maker as well. According to Spoiling Dead, "Noah and Glenn get trapped in what looks like an office building. Noah gets trapped behind a glass wall of sorts and Glenn watches as Noah's face is pressed up against the glass while some dirty walker fingers go into his mouth and his cheek is ripped apart."
These are still rumors, of course, as Spoiling Dead doesn't give any insight as to their sources. But it all sounds completely plausible, considering that Aiden is a classic Walking Dead "written in solely to be killed off" kind of character, and Tyler James Williams, who plays Noah, was recently cast on the Criminal Minds spin-off. Plus, it was probably only a matter of time for Noah anyway, considering that he's a black male and many fans hold him responsible for the deaths of Beth and Tyreese.
So what about the rest of the season? Norman Reedus has been getting chatty lately about the last few episodes, and it sounds like the finale will pack quite a punch.
In this interview with ET, he teases some kind of major betrayal from one of the characters, presumably one of the Alexandrians: There's something that's going to happen — I can't tell you what it is, but somebody turns out to be not what you think they are. It's an interesting turn of events.
And, even more ominously, in another ET interview, he answered a fan question about what we can expect from this season's finale: "Bring your Kleenex and you'll be screaming at your television."
It's probably safe to say that a major character, more significant than Aiden or Noah, will die in the season finale, but who will it be? Will Rick kill Pete over his relationship with Jessie? Will Glenn meet the same grisly fate he met in the comics? Would they ever dare to kill off Daryl? Sound off below!
