Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion's Con Man Already Has a Teaser
< >

Yesterday, Firefly's Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk launched a crowdfunding campaign for their new web comedy series, Con Man. Predictably but still amazingly, they had reached their goal by early afternoon.

Now, as a reward, we have the first official teaser from writer/director/star Alan Tudyk:

This teaser is great news. The premise could have been overly cutesy, but it looks like they're going with a black/awkward humor, which is my personal favorite. I would watch it, and not just because I'm a Firefly fan.

Con Man is a spoof of nerd convention culture, with Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion playing thinly veiled versions of themselves. Tudyk plays the protagonist, Wray Nerely, an actor from a cancelled-too-soon space opera called Spectrum who bitterly tours the convention circuit. His friend and former co-star, Jack Moore (Fillion), has gone on to become a major movie star and enjoys the high life in Hollywood. Comic Con hijinks ensue.

And in case all of that isn't enough of a draw, Sean Maher, Gina Torres, James Gunn, Seth Green, Felicia Day, and Amy Acker are all set to appear on the show. It's a Whedonite/Marvel nerd's nirvana.

They've reached their goal for now, but if you still want to donate so they can make more episodes, here's the Indiegogo campaign, which doesn't end until April 10.
