New Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clip and Artwork Preview Ward and Agent 33's Return
We haven't seen Ward or Agent 33 since the midseason finale in December, but tomorrow's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will see the antagonists finally return for a very special mission.
According to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeff Bell, the episode will largely focus on the dynamic between Ward and Agent 33:
"We call this 'Love In The Time of Hydra,' and so you're going to see what happened," he told EW. "At the end of "What They Become," which was our mid-season finale, Agent 33 and Ward limp off together towards the sunset. And this episode will bring us up to date and see what that has meant. And as the poster suggests, love is in the air."
Brett Dalton, who plays Ward, also commented on the relationship to IGN: "I think what we're seeing now is an unlikely duo who have both lost someone who gave them orders. So both of us have this question that we've been forced to answer: Who are we when someone's not telling us what to do? I wrestled with those demons for six months in a padded cell before Season 2 and now Agent 33 is in a similar position and wondering what to do. I might have some knowledge in that."
The above clip is fairly exposition-heavy, with Agent 33 and Ward explaining to each other where they've been all this time. But the one kicker is the end of the clip, in which they hold up a restaurant and tell a doctor that he will be tasked with "fixing [Agent 33's] face."
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s "Love in the Time of Hydra" airs tomorrow at 8pm on ABC.
